Tarn Aeluin Tragická Píseň lidí I. věk Epická

(Tarn Aeluin)

Falešné společenstvo Composed 2015 Recorded 2016

After the Battle of the Sudden Flame, Dorthonion was occupied by Sauron´s forces. Barahir, the last Lord of Bëor´s House, his son Beren and ten companions stayed in the country for a few years as outlaws, fighting the enemies. One of their camps lay by the shores of the lake Aeluin. It was the place where they, in the end, died.

One of Barahir´s men, Gorlim, was taken by Sauron and betrayed Barahir´s location. That night, Beren was alone outside the camp at the other side of Tarn Aeluin. When he slept, he dreamed of Gorlim´s ghost coming over the gray lake and telling him about his treason. Beren woke up and run to the camp, to warn his father, but it was too late. Barahir and all his friends were already dead. After that, Beren followed the orcs and slayed them. He also took back the ring which his father obtained after the Battle of the Sudden Flame from Finrod Felagund, when he saved him from the enemy. Finrod vowed to help Barahir and all his kin in the need and gave his ring to Barahir as a token of this oath.

Tarn Aeluin is the very first song I have ever written. It came to me suddenly when I was cleaning the windows in the sunny afternoon. The melody and harmony are both really simple due to my nonexistent music education and I was very surprised that the song is quite nice in the end.

Now rise, Beren,
for your dream comes to an end,
now delude your destiny and be swifter than time.
